Tips for First-Timers Travelling to Katra

  • Book your train 60+ days ahead — Katra is the second-busiest pilgrim station in North India.
  • Carry warm clothes even in summer — Bhawan altitude can drop to 12°C at night.
  • Withdraw enough cash — UPI works but mobile signal is patchy on the upper trek.
  • Pre-book your Yatra Slip and helicopter before reaching Katra.
  • Do not engage with touts at the railway station or bus stand offering “VIP darshan”.
